Lums Wine Bar

Back in the 1920s, 433 Hay St was home to EA Lums Grocery & General Store. Owned by Emily and Charles Lums, it was a place where Subiaco locals would gather to buy quality ingredients from a family-owned shop. With a nod to the predecessors, the team at Lums reimagined the premise converting it into a boutique wine bar and I had the pleasure of creating their brand.

The brand needed to capture the unique, eclectic, welcoming tone of the business while paying homage to the premises roots. A dynamic and modern logotype was created that mimicked the fluidity of wine. This was then paired with a series of wine related illustrations, each created to represent the venues offerings in a fun and quirky way.

A series of historical photographs of Subiaco were collaged with Lums illustrations, juxtaposing old and new. The brand also included merchandise, interior and exterior signage plus a custom wall mural.
